German intensive courses

We offer a full range of German language courses to suit all students from beginner to advanced levels. Every course is taught by committed, professional teachers supported by an experienced team of administrative staff to make sure you have the right conditions to learn and enjoy yourself.

Which course is appropriate for me?

Elementary course I (A1)

You will learn…
- to understand frequently used expressions.
- to have a conversation on routine matters.

Elementary course II (A2)

You will learn…
- to understand simple phrases and to use them properly.
- to communicate in a simple way.

Intermediate course I (B1)

To join this level, you should already have had 240 German lessons.
You will learn…
- to understand the main points on familiar matters.
- to speak about topics which are familiar.
- to give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Intermediate course II (B2)

To join this level, you should already have had 350 German lessons.
You will learn...
- to express yourself clearly within a wide range of issues.
- to explain your point of view.
- to understand the main contents of complex texts.
This course is appropriate for preparation for DSH or TestDaF.

Advanced course (C1)

You will learn…
- to understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts.
- to recognise the implicit meaning of a text.
- to express yourself fluently and spontaneously.
This course is appropriate for preparation for DSH or TestDaF.

How long does a course take?

Every course takes 6 weeks / 30 days of lessons.
It's not necessary to attend the full 6 weeks.
1 lesson (1 UE) = 45 minutes
8 - 14 participants 4 UE per day
15 - 20 participants 5 UE per day

Which exams can I take?

If you attend a course for at least 4 weeks, you can take the following exams at the Volkshochschule Passau:

 * Common European Framework
 

Enrolment confirmation (e. g. for visa)

A written course confirmation cannot be issued before the entire course fee has been paid. If you have been refused a visa, paid fees will be refunded, minus 30.- EURO cancellation charge.
